The Heart of the Matter.

Have you ever noticed or thought about how many times God speaks about our heart  in His Word ?

Today I had a revelation which I am going to share on my blog, and expand slightly in Sundays message this weekend, at S3064.

I opened up my smaller concordance today to see how many times the word heart is mentioned and where, maybe you should take a look at your own concordance and see for yourself..

but hundreds of times, if not thousands ...

so much is said about our heart ....

Take..Hebrews 4:12.. that our heart has attitudes and thoughts.
1Corinthians 14:25, that the secrets of our heart will be laid bare.

Well the truth is I cant blog every scripture reference, but they all speak about the nature and character of what is going on, on the inside of our being and God sees it all.

Here's a few things I got to thinking about earlier today....

A heart issue.... everything has a heart issue, for people our heart is the foundation pump of our being physically, but it is als…

FAT church....FAT Christians

I was reading this from Joyce Meyer devotional today and wanted to share it..

If you are born again, you hopefully know that Jesus lives on the inside of you through the power of the Holy Spirit. The question is, is God comfortable in you? Does He feel at home within you? Even though the Spirit of God lives within you, other things live in you, too - such as fear, anger, jealousy, or murmuring and complaining.

God once gave me an illustration of what it is like for Him to live in a heart where murmuring, complaining, and discord reside. Suppose you go to a friend's house and your friend says, "Oh, come on in. I'll get you a cup of coffee. Get comfortable and make yourself at home." Then, your friend begins yelling at her husband and the two of them rant and rave and carry on right in front of you. How comfortable would you be in the presence of such strife?

If we want to be a comfortable "home" for the Spirit of the Lord, we must give up things that cause u…

People are not possessions.

I got to thinking today that we have nasty habit in our humanity, that being of treating others like we own them or something.

We demonstrate this by the way we treat others.

Giving them the flick, or abandoning them, or abusing them, or worse still.... destroying their lives.

Now before you get defensive.....we have all been guilty of it at some stage or the other, but it doesn't make it right and we are indignant if it is done to us, but yet I still see it everywhere.

This was reinforced to me today as I pondered some home truths about human trafficking.

I am going to tell you some home truths about what actually happens in some parts of the world.

Young girls are "obtained", men have their way with them so much that these young girls lose their self worth and are totally broken, and then used as prostitutes, with no self worth or even benefit for the work they do. If one of them should become pregnant, the baby is born and then sold to local pedophiles. The mother r…

This is a copy of an email I received today through our networks and it surely is a must read...Please take a few moments and read it... ATHEIST PROFESSOR TELLS OF HIS NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE IN HELL
By Mark Ellis, as told by Rev Howard Storm, a USA Church of Christ minister.
The full story is contained in Mr Storm's book "My Descent into Death"
In some near-death experiences, people report they were drawn toward "the light." But in this horrifying near-death experience for an atheist art professor, he was drawn into the darkness of hell, which dramatically altered the course of his life. "I was a double atheist," says Howard Storm, who became a tenured art professor at Northern Kentucky University by age 27. "I was a know-it-all college professor, and universities are some of the most closed-minded places there are," he noted. On the last day of a three-week European art tour he led, his group had returned to their hotel in Paris after …
Image me, around me, through me.... right now.

Firstly let me say that I love it that God chooses to use us, as His people, and I Love it that when He uses us to help others, He always grows us at the same time.

I am at a place right now where I am unsure I have ever been before.

I am at peace with whatever lays before me.

Doing my best with what I have been asked to do for Him right now.
Seriously...I am trying my hardest and doing my very best so far as an Officer.

And in some cases am seeing some results in others as I go about my Godly business.

I guess that not everyone may think I am doing my best, but I am , I really am...and I am probably the only one who really knows that.

I feel like I am giving my preaching its best shot.... my preparation too, and I also feel like I am leading  at a higher rate than I have led before.

Do you ever self analyze your performance as a leader ?
Well I do...I think its a healthy thing to do from time to time.

I feel fresh and alive and aware…
